How we work
AI-native: AI speeds up research, creative testing and reporting, and a senior specialist makes every call.

Online retail is a margin game played at speed. A blended ROAS can look healthy while your best-margin products starve and discounted lines eat the budget. As a UK eCommerce PPC agency, we build Google Shopping, Performance Max, Meta and TikTok around product-level profit and new-customer growth, with clean product feeds and Shopify tracking the platforms can actually learn from.

(01) Campaign structure

Campaigns built to win new customers.

Each channel has a different job. Shopping and search capture people ready to buy, Performance Max scales across Google, and social creates demand for products people didn’t know they wanted. This is the structure we’d typically build for an online shop.

Shopping & search

Google Ads & Microsoft Advertising
01

Shopping by margin

Products grouped by margin and best-sellers, each with its own target, so profitable lines get the budget and thin-margin ones don’t eat it.

02

Category & non-brand search

Search campaigns for the categories and problems your products solve, reaching shoppers who don’t know your brand yet.

03

New-customer bidding

Google’s new-customer acquisition setting bids higher for people who haven’t bought from you before, so growth isn’t just repeat orders.

04

Brand protection

A low-cost campaign on your brand, so resellers and competitors don’t take customers already looking for you.

Performance Max

Shopping, YouTube, Display & Discover
01

Category asset groups

Asset groups by product category, each with its own creative and audience signals, built on a clean, optimised feed.

02

New-customer mode

Optimised to win new customers only, rather than people who would have bought anyway.

03

Profit-based targets

Targets set from your margins (ROAS or POAS), so scale never comes at the expense of profit. Try our POAS calculator.

04

Brand exclusions

Your brand excluded so Performance Max can’t take credit for searches you’d win cheaply in Search, keeping its results honest.

Paid social

Meta & TikTok
01

Advantage+ prospecting

Broad targeting with a steady flow of tested creative, letting Meta find new customers, with existing customers capped or excluded.

02

Catalogue ads

Dynamic product ads from your feed that show people the products they viewed, in every placement.

03

Creator-style video

Native, creator-style video and Spark Ads on TikTok, built to stop the scroll and drive sales.

04

Seasonal & promo bursts

Planned pushes for launches, Black Friday and sale periods, with budget ramped up ahead of peak demand.

The exact mix depends on your margins, catalogue and stock. We agree it with you up front, then shift budget towards what wins the most profitable new customers.

(02) What we solve

Built for eCommerce challenges.

01

Feed & catalogue health

Your product feed is your targeting. Disapprovals, weak titles and missing attributes quietly throttle Shopping and catalogue ads, so we fix the feed before we touch the bids.

02

New customers vs. repeat buyers

Platforms love retargeting people who were going to buy anyway. We separate new-customer acquisition from retention so your budget pays for growth instead of re-buying existing customers.

03

Tracking after iOS and cookie loss

Browser-only pixels miss sales. Server-side tracking from Shopify recovers many of those sales, giving Google and Meta a fuller signal to optimise on.

04

Seasonal peaks & promotions

Black Friday, sales and launches need planning, pacing and creative ready in advance, so budget lands where demand actually spikes.

(03) What we run

eCommerce advertising, end to end

  • Google Shopping & Performance Max

Standard Shopping and Performance Max structured by margin, bestsellers and new-customer value, with custom labels, sensible asset groups and search-term visibility so PMax doesn’t just cannibalise brand searches. More on our PPC & Shopping service and our Performance Max best practices.

  • Meta Advantage+ & catalogue ads

Dynamic product ads (now Advantage+ catalogue ads) that show each shopper the products they viewed, alongside Advantage+ sales campaigns for prospecting. Built on a clean catalogue and a disciplined creative-testing framework.

  • TikTok shopping & catalogue ads

Video Shopping and catalogue ads that turn scroll into sales on your own store, with creator-style creative that feels native to the feed. More on TikTok ads.

  • Product feed optimisation

Google Merchant Center and Meta catalogue management: optimised titles and attributes, supplemental feeds, disapproval fixes and custom labels for margin, price band and seasonality. Every other campaign sits on this foundation.

  • Shopify tracking & server-side

Shopify’s Google and Meta channel apps, the Meta Conversions API and Google Enhanced Conversions, with server-side tagging where it helps, so purchases, revenue and new-customer data flow back accurately.

  • Microsoft, Pinterest & retention

Microsoft Shopping for cheaper incremental search demand, Pinterest shopping ads for discovery-led categories, and retention audiences from your customer lists, with recent purchasers excluded from prospecting.

(04) How it works

From product feed to profitable scale

  1. 01

    Audit feed, margins & tracking

We review your product feed, Shopify tracking and account structure, and map margins by product or category, so we know what a profitable sale looks like before spending a pound.

  2. 02

    Build a profit-led structure

Campaigns segmented by margin, bestsellers and new-customer value across Shopping, PMax, Meta and TikTok, each with targets set from your economics instead of a single blended ROAS.

  3. 03

Scale with creative & catalogue testing

Continuous creative and feed testing, budget moved to what drives profitable new customers, and reporting on contribution after ad spend.

How we measure it · Click → First order → Repeat → Profit

  1. Stage 1

    Click

    They find a product

Shopping, Performance Max and paid social

  2. Stage 2

    First order

    They buy

    Sales tracked with real revenue

  3. Stage 3

    Repeat

    They come back

New and returning customers split out

  4. Stage 4

    Profit

    It pays back

Judged on profit after ad spend

A high ROAS can still lose money. We judge growth on profit and new customers. Purchases are also sent server-side through Meta’s Conversions API and Google’s enhanced conversions, so fewer sales go missing.

(05) Measurement

Profit you can actually trust

Every ad platform reports its own version of success, and they all claim the same sale. So we judge eCommerce performance on business numbers: blended revenue, new-customer acquisition cost and contribution after ad spend. Platform ROAS helps with steering, but it isn’t the scoreboard. Work out your real target with our break-even ROAS calculator, and read what a good ROAS actually is.

Where your margins vary by product, we pass margin-aware conversion values or use custom labels so bidding favours profitable lines. And because repeat purchases change the maths, we factor in lifetime value (check your LTV:CAC ratio), so you don’t under-invest in customers worth far more than their first order.

Peak season gets its own plan. Black Friday, Christmas delivery cut-offs and the January sales each need different offers, budgets and targets. See our Black Friday plan and Christmas and January sales plan.

(08) FAQ

eCommerce questions.

01What does an eCommerce PPC agency do?

An eCommerce PPC agency, or eCommerce marketing agency, manages Google Shopping, Performance Max and search campaigns, often alongside Meta, TikTok, Microsoft and Pinterest, to sell products profitably. The core of the job is the product feed, margin-aware bidding and accurate tracking, so budget flows to the products and new customers that make money rather than to the highest platform ROAS.

02What do your eCommerce PPC services include?

Google Shopping and Performance Max with product feed fixes in Merchant Center, Meta and TikTok catalogue and creative campaigns, search campaigns for high-intent product and category terms, Shopify and server-side tracking, and a weekly report built on your shop’s revenue, profit and new customers. Each channel is managed to product-level margin rather than blended ROAS.

03How do I choose an eCommerce PPC agency?

Ask who will run your account, how they set ROAS targets from your margins, who fixes your product feed, whether they report new customers and profit from your own shop data, and how long the contract ties you in. Our guide to the best eCommerce PPC agencies in the UK compares ten options, and our 12-point checklist covers what to ask.

04Do you work with Shopify stores?

Yes. We set up and audit Shopify tracking (including the Google and Meta channel apps, the Meta Conversions API and Google Enhanced Conversions), manage product feeds from Shopify into Google Merchant Center and Meta catalogues, and run campaigns across Shopping, PMax, Meta and TikTok.

05What are dynamic product ads?

Dynamic product ads (now called Advantage+ catalogue ads on Meta) automatically show people products from your catalogue based on what they viewed or are likely to buy. They are powered by your product feed and pixel or Conversions API data, so a clean catalogue and accurate tracking are essential.

06Should we use Performance Max or standard Shopping?

Often both. Performance Max reaches across all of Google’s inventory with heavy automation, while standard Shopping gives more control and visibility. We typically segment by margin and product performance, protect brand search, and test PMax against Shopping rather than assuming one wins.

07How do you make ROAS profitable rather than just high?

By setting targets from your product margins instead of a blended benchmark. Your break-even ROAS is 1 ÷ gross margin, so a 4x can be profitable on one product and loss-making on another. We structure campaigns and conversion values so bidding favours profitable products and new customers.

08How do you track eCommerce conversions after iOS changes?

With server-side signals alongside the browser pixel: the Meta Conversions API, Google Enhanced Conversions and, where useful, server-side tagging. That recovers purchases browser-only tracking misses and gives the algorithms better data to optimise on. Consent has to be right too: in our study of 98 UK Shopify brands, 3 in 4 tracked visitors before cookie consent or had no banner at all.

09Do you run TikTok ads for eCommerce?

Yes. TikTok catalogue and video shopping ads that drive sales on your own store, with creator-style creative built for the feed.

10How much should an eCommerce brand spend on ads?

It depends on your margins, average order value and growth goals. We work back from a profitable cost per new customer, using your margin and lifetime value, and scale spend while that stays true. Our free ROAS and LTV:CAC calculators show the maths.
